Defense & Space Customer Business Manager

 

Job Description

This position has responsibility for International Defence Customers in the Eastern Europe/CIS region. In this position you will be primary contact for customers, lead the Customer Core Team (CCT) and have overall responsibility for customer relationships, opportunity identification and cultivation, and growth, revenue, margin and execution of the business for those customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with key influencers
  • Leading a cross-functional, integrated product team to achieve the following objectives: execution of AOP (including achievement of revenue and profit objectives).
  • Providing customer demand planning inputs, managing customer relationships, identification, development and support of new business capture, and adherence to contract, schedule, cost, regulatory agency, and international trade compliance requirements.
  • Extensive interface cross-functional personnel, including Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Contracts/Legal, Program Planning and Control, International Trade Compliance, and Customer and Product Support.
  • Provides leadership of the Customer Core Team (C&PS, FSE, PM) and extended CCT.
  • Delivers business commitments in accordance with AOP/STRAP, including, revenue, op income, and working capital performance.
  • Responsible for long-term objectives such as year-over-year growth, profitability, and win rate, as well as near-term forecast accuracy for iSRO and demand planning.
  • Identifies opportunities and executes specific plans to improve program performance. Develops and executes detailed action plans, including extensive risk/opportunity analysis, with Engineering, ISC, and Sales teams for achieving revenue and net investment / operating income targets for the program(s) in this segment.
  • Ensures effective coordination and integration with M&PM Product Teams and other Product/Service management teams within Aerospace.
  • Leads the execution of all programs for Region and is responsible for maintaining good and consistent program performance within budgets and requirements.
  • Responsible for achieving required cost & schedule adherence, scope management, export compliance, and IPDS compliance. Key program performance metrics include EAC fidelity, CPI, SPI, OTTR, A/R, and HMR Milestone Fidelity.

Desired Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business or operations preferred
  • 5-10 years of previous business experience, including but not limited to business management, engineering, sales, operations, finance, contracts, customer support
  • Green belt certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or MBA
  • Previous aftermarket experience
  • Black Belt and PMP certification
  • Proven track record of effective customer management and interface
  • Working knowledge of business and financial fundamentals (Profit & Loss analysis, Investment analysis, Balance Sheet, Green Sheet)
  • Knowledge of fundamental functional principles with the ability to optimize business performance in cooperation with Engineering, Sales & Marketing and Customer Support, and ISC
  • Ability to make sound decisions and take quick action to ensure execution
